Embrace the Uncanny at the Ithaca Fantastik Sixth Film Festival

Back for its sixth edition, Ithaca Fantastik! Film Festival (IFFF) presents five days of art, music, and film during the third week of November in Ithaca, NY. Partially supported by a GAP grant from CAP the festival will feature the most anticipated international films, a film competition, community organized concerts, diverse art exhibitions, documentaries, midnight films, and a retrospective that is the backbone of the festival. This year’s festival will focus on the tonal and visual shift initiated in the late 60’s by Italian directors Mario Bava and Radley Metzger.

For the past five years, The Fantastik Art Show and Fantastik Concerts have diversified the festival’s offerings and fostered its position as an art hub in upstate New York. Fantastik film embraces the general concept of the Uncanny, where supernatural phenomenon can often have a rational explanation, and can then be viewed as real. The fantastic genre includes films with elements of sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, horror, or the absurd.  Find out more about Ithaca Fantastik! at
