Tompkins County's arts council has officially settled into our new offices inside Center Ithaca, right on the Commons. During the first week in June, the offices of the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County shifted from its old home in the Historic Clinton House to an atrium-level space inside Center Ithaca. Located in the corner once occupied by Shalimar Bazaar, the new space puts all of our services right in the heart of downtown. We're conveniently located next to Ticket Center Ithaca, which also serves as the new home of CAP's ArtSpace.
All the services we are able to provide to both the public and to our community's artists have been enhanced with this new, highly visible location on the Commons. The move of CAP's ArtSpace has added another gallery to the Commons, and the offices serve as a central point of information about all of CAP's programs, including the Greater Ithaca Art Trail, semi-annual artist markets, IthacaEvents.com, and the many community arts grants that CAP awards each year.
Robin and I are both excited for all the opportunities afforded by the Center Ithaca location. We've already seen more new faces dropping by the offices, and I hope those visits will translate into innovative ideas and programs for the future.
See you on the Commons...
