Holiday Artists' Market on Dec. 11

November 17th, 2010

This year there is plenty of opportunities to buy local art for the holidays.  Our program, the annual "Holiday Artists' Market" takes place on December 11th, a Saturday, 11am to 5pm at the Women's Community Building at 100 W. Seneca Street, Ithaca (corner of Cayuga and Seneca).

I'm excited about this event. Even though I am the administrator, I really like being there and hanging out. It is a nice atmosphere.  We've got 22 fine (juried) artists from Tompkins County participating. Johnny Russo and Doug Robinson will play throughout the day - Johnny on piano and horn (not at the same time) and Doug on guitar.

Was anyone there last year when Johnny and Doug were playing songs from "Oklahama" and the crowd sang along?  It was a corny magical moment...

This year, I also lined up "Man in the Moon Cheesecake (.com) to sell cupcakes, cookies and coffee to help folks warm up while they examine photographs, paintings, sculpture, collage, prints and more... at all sort of prices.  Buying local art for the holidays would be very special!

More about this event and a list of participants is on our Artists Market page (click here).

I hope you can come and bring your family and friends.
