CAP Launches New Website

November 17th, 2009

Welcome to the new ArtsPartner.org, the online home of the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County! New features on the site abound, but we're most proud of the searchable Member Artist Registry, which allows artists of all disciplines to share their work with each other and the general public. We hope that this service, unique in our region, will go beyond being merely a "slide-guide" for the 21st century and will encourage both the public and the other artists in the registry to explore the sheer volume of talented individuals that call Tompkins County home.

You'll also want to keep an eye on the sidebar on the left of every page. In addition to extra information and facts, you'll also find built-in slideshows and related files for most pages on the site. And, if you see something that you need to tell your friends about, each page features a "Share This Page" button that allows you to spread the word using a variety social media.

Even though it's been launched, ArtsPartner.org will always be a work-in-progress. Please come back often to look for more news, announcements, and entries in the ArtsLog, our regular column on the arts in Tompkins County, frequently featuring guest writers from the community.

We also welcome your input and suggestions for entries in our "Arts Resources Guide" section. The current list is just a starting point, so we're relying on our partners throughout the arts community to continue to populate it with the newest and best services out there to help our artists reach their full potential.

2009 was a year of economic challenges for CAP (i.e. the temporary loss of our general operating support from the New York State Council on the Arts), so this new site would not have been possible without additional support from a number of sources: the Legacy Foundation of Tompkins County, the Tompkins County Tourism Program, and the technical assistance program of NYSCA's State & Local Partnership office.
