I am a self taught Photographer and mixed media artist living in Ithaca , having moved back here from the Oakland California, where I had lived for the past 28 years.
I feel as though I have been a photographer all of my life. I have always stopped to look and compose even when I am without camera in hand. I learned early on to look not only at what's in front of me, but to "look behind" me as well. Often that is where the image is. My goal with my photography is to share the wonders of nature and time. By time I mean moments in time, fleeting moments, moments that we all too easily let pass us by. Nature has been a primary source for my images, being drawn in by the many colors and textures. Whether photographing nature or people, I fill the frame with both nuance and simplicity. If I make one person think about slowing down and "seeing" with my work I have accomplished my goal.
More recently, I have been working with my partner Bridgett and The CITTI Project, (Community Inclusion Through Technology International) for which we are the founders. The CITTI Project is a non-profit devoted to bringing assistive and adaptive techniques to the developing world for use in daily living aids and educational needs in working with children and adults with physical disabilities.
