Creating Opportunities for the Arts, Artists, and Audiences of Tompkins County

I have always been fascinated with lines, colors, and shapes. I am a self taught painter. I have had no formal training. This summer, I painted with Swarez in his Contemporary Art Studio in England.
In 2006 I graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a BA in Psychology. This year I completed my Master’s degree in Psychology. I am currently working on my PhD in Psychology.
My paintings rose from a devastating life changing event. This life changing event prompted me to live out my dream and become a painter. Painting saved me from myself. Painting gave me hope during a time when I had lost faith in the world and in myself. Painting is the one place where I feel perfectly happy and at home. My paintings are a reflection of what I am feeling at that moment on that particular day. Once I am in “there”, I do not hear or see anything but the canvas. “The canvas owes me nothing. I owe the canvas everything.
