Creating Opportunities for the Arts, Artists, and Audiences of Tompkins County

I have been "rearranging reality" for over 30 years. Visual images from either the mass media or my own photography are hand cut from their original sources, then, after thoughtful-and decidedly strategic-juxtaposing, they are pasted into entirely new "circumstances" creating imaginative realms in which reality becomes dreams, and dreams: realities. Photographs captured from here-and-now "Kodak Moments" become Momentpoints of worlds precariously poised on the edge of surreal. Ordinary objects are removed from their usual contexts then purposely transformed into extraordinary entities. Pieces and scraps of color are woven into compositions that hint of emerging actualities. These collages are sometimes created in an intense concentration of thought, other times in the synchronistic reverie of stream-of-conscious play; working by hand creating a relaxed, contemplative, and thought provoking state of being and creating imagery that inspires the same!
My work is visionary art. It is infused with my considerably esoteric beliefs regarding the true nature of reality as a non-linear, multidimensional, ever-changing NOW of possibilities. The montages are slices of life: instances gleaned from infinite probable realities; visual explorations of emotional and philosophical states of being; imaginings of the mind we can choose to perceive if we purposely digress from geographical and perceptual correctness. I commingle serious with whimsical; worldly with spiritual. By mixing imagery from multiple sources, time periods, and artistic "isms," I create "Personal Realities" in a style uniquely my own: a neo-representational eclectic surrealism seeped in metaphysics with a dash of psychedelic spirituality
I have had numerous exhibitions, and participate in various area art festivals. I present work-or play-shops on my style of photomontage sharing the passion whenever I can!
I bring into existence that which-without me-might never be seen...
