I'm an emerging artist who lives in Freeville, NY and am currently attending Empire State College working towards a degree in Art with a concentration in Visual Studies.
My current work explores the physicality of paint and gels to find new ways to create effects and give expression to what is on my mind in a colorful and dynamic way.
The new paintings are made on wood panel or canvas with acrylic paint and various gels, sometimes sand, and done in series. Paint is mixed and moved with a palette knife or mixed in a separate small container and poured on allowing gravity to do its part. The fluid nature allows for the paint to collide and mix naturally in places, creating all kinds of surprises!
The intent of the work is to activate the imagination, be interesting, and due to their unintentional nature, that something original will be arrived at that's meaningful.
