I formed CloseToHome Productions to reach a wide-ranging audience with videos that feature topical and socially relevant issues. In 2007 I produced, directed and co-wrote with Christopher Julian (www.ChristopherJulian.com) the documentary 101 Ways to Retire-or Not!, seen on WSKG, a PBS affiliate, also an official selection of the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival in 2008 and the recipient of a 2008 Mature Media Awards. With filmmaker Christopher Julian I have completed a 12-minute informational video of Hospicare of Ithaca, NY (www.Hospicare.org), a strength training DVD for senior citizens (www.StayStrongLiftForLife.com) and we are working on two more documentaries: one about the Hospice Movement in the US and the other about It's All Right To Be Woman Theatre a feminist theatre troupe in NYC in the 1970s. All trailers and clips can be seen at www.CloseToHomeProductions.com.

I currently direct the Senior Citizen Theatre Troupe of Lifelong in Ithaca, NY. This is the eighth season for the Senior Troupe at Lifelong (www.tclifelong.org). The troupe creates theatre pieces based on stories from our lives, developed through improvisational theatre workshops and we perform these pieces throughout Tompkins County. We were recently featured at the Creativity and Aging Conference at Ithaca College in October 2009.

A graduate of NYU with a MA in Educational Theatre, I have worked, for more than 30 years, as a director, performer, playwright, storyteller, puppet maker, teacher, arts administrator and producer of theatre in colleges, public schools, community centers and alternative performing spaces in New York City and Ithaca NY.

As a volunteer, I have served as president of the boards of the Kitchen Theatre and the Greater Ithaca Activities Center; helped form my neighborhood association, South of the Creek Neighbors; served on an Ithaca city committee addressing neighborhood issues and currently volunteer for many arts and human services organizations including Lifelong and Hospicare.
