Fifteen years ago, my wife insisted I enroll in an evening watercolor class with her. Little did she know she had launched me on a major shift in my life!
I began teaching classes within a few years and purchased a custom frame shop, The Picture House, in Cortland 9 years ago. Combined with a part-time job as Executive Director of the Cultural Council of Cortland County, I've managed to patch together several art-related undertakings to actually make a modest living in a small town as an artist.
I sell my paintings in local shows, on line through my website, and in our front room Staff Gallery at The Picture House. I teach the Groton Senior Art Class and an ongoing class Tuesday evenings at the Cultural Council Center at 9 North Main St. in Cortland.
I now live in a cottage I built overlooking a seven acre wildlife pond which provides the inspiration for many of my paintings.
