I believe that art is how we really connect to, process and understand our world, each other, our communities, our learning, our living, our dying; art has the power to make us think and make us invest emotionally.
As a performer, I divide my time between original work created and performed by the physical theatre company Kakeru, Clown shows, clown therapy projects, and more typical acting and voice over gigs (including student films, which I enjoy).
Gender: Female, although I have played men
Age Range: 35-45
Sing: Mezzo
Dance: Background Training in multiple disciplines, but primarily Modern and Contact Improv
As a playwright, I write everything from Puppet Theatre scripts to Murder Mystery dinners to traditional scripts, including the performance for the Women's Rights Museum Sesquicentennial Celebration, to the touring performance of VOICES/lives to my current project that takes place in a hospital in WWI Paris, About Face.
I also make masks, sometimes as independent art pieces, but usually intended to be worn. I specialize in commedia dell 'arte, Irish, and archetypal folktale/mythology masks.
Finally, I love being a teaching artist! I offer master classes and create arts-at-the-core academic curricula for elementary and high schools. I have an M.A. in Theatre, Education, and Social Change.
